{below are the tables I built for the restaurant il vecchio in Califoria. Each was built from salvaged oak flooring from a brownstone in Brooklyn.}

And this is the fourteen foot bar, before it was quite finished, that I built from salvaged oak kneelers from a Lutheran church basement we scavenged in Brooklyn.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your tables - I'd love to see another chevron table (like the one you have in clamps in the picture above) with that raw chevron edge, instead of having it sawed of and framed.... might be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your work - I'm UK based....if I wasn't I would be ordering one of your beautiful tables in a flash!! Can I please ask....where on earth do you get such a large supply of those amazing thin little pieces of wood that work so perfectly on your table tops?? Also, do you stain pieces to get the different shades on the tables or are these the natural colour of the different types of wood - I could ask you so many questions as I'm just fascinated by you and your work and your wonderful studio...but i'll stop now! :)
ReplyDeletewonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteMixing/matching of wood (which is very time consuming)looks great. The time you spent in the planning is worth it in the finished projects. www.coolchairs.net
